	MW0504 The ARSONS- TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE CD "Too True to Be Good" marks Ernie Parada's highly anticipated return to playing guitars and contributing heavily to vocal duties for the Arsons, as well as the Arsons second full length for Mad at the World. Hardcore enthusiasts will note that the Arsons' last album, "Bridges Down," was the first recorded material featuring Ernie on drums since his days in TOKEN ENTRY. The Arsons continue to pack a melodic hardcore punch in a similar style to the one Ernie and co-conspirator Jason made popular with their last band GREY AREA. The band's signature guitar hooks and vocal melodies collide with an uncontainable energy and vigor that belies their collective experience. "Too True to be Good" serves as a refreshing reminder that melodic punk doesn't need an "emo" tag; not terribly surprising considering that members of the Arsons helped set the standard for the genre with their past bands, and led the BOUNCING SOULS' Bryan Kienlen to say, "Ernie Parada is a genius. Everything he does is better than everything I and everyone else I know does..."
	The Misguided- Fuggets 1981 - 1984 CD One of the original "NY Thrash" bands, the Misguided, along with HEARTATTACK, THE FALSE PROPHETS, and THE MOB, were amongst the first generation of NY hardcore. This retrospective of studio, demo, and live material bears witness to that exciting, restless, and sometimes awkward time after the punk explosion in NY when kids forged their own sound with only the "loud, fast rules!" ethic as their blueprint. Refreshingly absent is the metal crunch that characterized later generations of NYHC. Influenced by the Dead Boys or the Jam, the Misguided took some cues from the DC bands of the time, stripped that sound down to its elements and injected it with a momentum and vigor almost bursting at the seams. 	Battletorn- Burn Fast 7" Battletorn erupted onto the NYC music scene with a bash 'n crash hardcore sound and a take-no-prisoners attitude. Although they started as a guitar/ drums/ vocals 3 piece, and recently slimmed down to a two piece attack, they make the most of their minimalist line-up with a full on wall of noise sound. They've got a classic, ragged hardcore sound. Battletorn will bring their one-two punch of a live show anywhere-- hardcore shows, metal shows, rock shows, and even hipster-indie shows, leaving many an audience member with dropped jaws at the near riotous response they often get. 	Urban Waste T-shirt The cover of the infamous EP has been a much bootlegged t-shirt as well, but if you've seen pictures of the folks at A7, their Urban Waste shirts looked a bit different. What we've got here is a limited printing of Urban Waste logo shirts made from the ORIGINAL acetate. That's right, Ultraviolence's Tony T-shirt, the same guy who printed the original Agnostic Front "Skinhead" shirts, printed these up from the original acetates that he made the screens from in 1982. Only a handful of these were printed up, with a Mad at the World logo on the back, so grab them while you can. Specify whether you want SMALL, MEDIUM, or LARGE. $11.00 ppd US
	MAJOR CONFLICT- This is 1983 CD Just short of an hour long glimpse into the wild and reckless world of early 1980’s New York hardcore. As fellow travelers Urban Waste dissolved following the release of their now classic EP, three quarters of that band, including original UW singer Billy Phillips, teamed up with other local hoods to form Major Conflict, then a veritable supergroup of NYHC. Destined to have become a classic were it not for the whirlwind speed with which they burst on the scene and left it, this record gives a detailed retrospective of Queens-style hardcore, and includes the band’s unreleased studio recording featuring Kraut’s Johnny Feedback on drums. 	NIHILISTICS - self titled LP Re-release of this seminal New York hardcore punk band's debut album pressed onto vinyl. The Nihilistics originally hailed from Long Island, but gigged around Manhatten in clubs like A7, CBGB's and the Mudd Club, and appeared on the legendary New York Thrash compilation with THE BEASTIE BOYS, THE MAD, and THE BAD BRAINS. 	URBAN WASTE 12" EP/ CD EP A re-issue of the sole EP by one of the most sought after and enigmatic bands from the earliest days of New York hardcore. Despite the obscurity of the original release, Urban Waste was made famous through their signature style of blown-out, over the top hardcore punk replete with trademark menacing buzzsaw guitars and piercing vocals. 	THE SKABS - Aged to Perfection CD Vaudevillian deathrock with a carnivalesque new wave sound from this veteran NY band. Says Punk Planet: they "should play with the Faint, but they'd probably scare the audience." MATW05 CD $12.00
	THE BAD FORM 7" The debut disk of a maniacial whirwind of rock n roll madness from this NJ band. Followed up by an appearance on TMU's "Troubleman Mix Tape" and an EP on the Youth Attack label. Too well versed in early hardcore and dissonant no wave to be able to be called a "garage rock" band in good faith. MATW04 7" Sold out and out of print.
	TRENCHCOAT ARMY 7" The debut 7" by New York City's Trenchcoat Army serves you a dose of raw hardcore punk in the "loud fast rules!" tradition. The Line up features Wendy and Don, editors of the seminal New York magazine Guillotine (with roots as far back as 1982), and Jesse (formerly in NO CONTEST, went on to SOMETHING IN THE WATER) providing the vocals. It goes for that early 80's sound and actually has members that were around then. Jesse left the band shortly after this recording, which led, in part, to this release being limited to 500 copies. 	PANOPTICON - Terminal Hierarchy of Waste 7" The sole release by the band that preceded THE BAD FORM, featuring Jared and Dan on guitar and drums respectively, and the enigmatic Johnny B on vocals. The sessions that produced this disk are the results of a pre-occupation with violence, surrealism, and jarring music that lay bare a deep affinity for thrashy punk. Lazy reggae crashes headlong into an apocalyptic car wreck of blitz speed punk. MATW02 7" $3.50
	POSITRON - Deadalive 7" Members of New York bands THE MALADJUSTED and AWKWARD THOUGHT join together for a short-lived side project whose goal was to belt out some hardcore punk in the New York City tradition that lies somewhere between the mid to the late 1980's. MURPHY'S LAW, WARZONE, and SIDE BY SIDE all come to mind as point of reference. MATW01 7" Sold out and out of print.
	NO CONTEST- Where Do We Go From Here? 7" The leftover copies (300 in total) of this record taken from its initial Slaughterhouse Records release. Pressed in a limited quantity, and receiving unfortunate distribution before Slaughterhouse folded, a number of these never made it in to covers. New, slightly different covers were made for this release; 7 songs of negative hardcore from a band whose fond moniker was the (aptly titled) New Jersey Asshole Brigade.
