BATTLETORN - Reflect the Filth LP
Despite becoming a two-city in 2007, the NYC/ Nashville thrash-duo William and Omid soldiered on and continued to lay musical waste to all that crossed their path, managing a tour of Japan in the process. The ingredients to Battletorns vision are few and simple, but they deliver such a ferocious thrash/ punk/ metal/ hardcore mania that you d never guess theres only two of them. Perhaps the words of others describe them best: With nothing to hide behind, be it longwinded, cryptic lyrics, majestic album art or dense and overdone production, Battletorn come quickly, come prejudicially, and it s all over before one s able to really process what has transpired. (LeftHandPath) Reflect the Filth will be the bands final full-length offering, and compiles 8 studio tracks recorded at The Thousand Caves with Colin Marston (Behold... the Arctopus) at the knobs on the A-side. Side B has a complete live set (clocking in at 15 minutes, its the bands longest) recorded in Tokyo on the last night of their Japanese tour. In continuing the tradition of their over-before-you-know-it aesthetic, 12" will be limited to 500 copies which promise to be gone rather quickly. The records is a split release between Mad at the World, Grrman Records, and Challenge the Throne Records.

Cheap Tragedies- Volume 1: Souvenirs and Evidence LP
Following hot on the heels of 7"s on Livewire Records and High Anxiety 416/ No Idea Records, Cheap Tragedies waste no time in dropping an absolute rager of an LP. Comprised of some well-seasoned clevo vets, including a maniacal Tony Erba delivering his best vocal performance ever, they tear through 12 tracks of amped up, hardcore punk rock n roll on their debut Volume 1: Souvenirs and Evidence the way only Cleveland miscreants can. Recorded by Bill Korecky at Mars Studio (Face Value, Integrity, 9 Shocks Terror, Terror, etc), the sound is incendiary and justifies their reputation as "hardcore arena rock destroyers". First press packaged in a gatefold sleeve, 300 on clear wax through mailorder or select stores.

Battletorn- Terminal Dawn CD
Battletorn crank the brutality up higher with their apocalyptic thrash. Filtering some early 80s hardcore fury through thrash metal unruliness via Marshall stacks. They blast through 16 shattering songs that recall late 80s UK acts (think Heresy and the like) as it does some Negative FX/ early D.R.I. style hardcore mania. The 16 track Terminal Dawn sold out of its 500 copy gatefold pressing in a few scant months, and is pressed here on CD, along with a re-mastered version of their 6 song 2006 Burn Fast 7". To continue with their bash and crash over-before-you-know-it theme, 500 copies of the CD were manufactured to make up this pressing, to coincide with the Battletorn March 08 Japanese tour! |
